PAL Program

The broad objective of the Partnership and Learning (PAL) Program is to start and sustain the process of educating K-12 youth on agriculture, thus raising an awareness of the importance of sound agricultural practices. Specifically, the program is designed to diversify the literary experiences, and broaden the worldview of all students that participate in the program. These specific objectives will be met through the implementation of:

Book Donation Project
ENI & Partner Book Donation Project The project is designed to support young children by increasing access to literary materials. It will serve the purpose of acquiring reading books and materials in developed countries in order to send them developing countries. ENI partners in developing countries will receive the books for use in the school on their property, and every child who is cared for will have access to all of them.

Pen-Pal Project
Pen-Pal Project The pen-pal system will connect students in the developing world with the counterparts in the developed world, establishing a peer-to- peer correspondence that will yield a variety of social and learning benefits. The project design encourages agriculture to be the common thread in the ensuing exchanges. This project will diversify literary experiences, and broaden the worldview of all of the students that participate.

School Garden Project
School Garden Project This project will introduce the younger students to hands-on basic farming methods on designated small plots of land on partner campuses. The goals of this project include building upon academic content, and fostering a positive attitude toward teamwork and cooperation. Consistent with the ENI mission, the project will transform the way in which the next generation think about and use land for sustainable farming practices as crop farming, and small-to- medium animal husbandry. This entire process with be a final stepping stone in preparing the students for transition to the Alpha Program.

Biannual Leadership Exchange Week (for teachers and students)
The fourth project of the PAL Program will foster a more hands-on cross-cultural exchange that will occur biannually. This exchange will provide select students and teachers with an opportunity to travel to the USA from our partner campuses in the developing world – and vice-versa – and get a first-hand experience working in-country and expand their leadership training.
